iOS · mystery game Day 1 slice

The Eighth Witness

iPhone mystery game about reading motives, omissions, and contradictions inside an alien diplomatic enclave.

Briefly

A focused mystery slice about reading people, evidence, and omissions before committing to a theory.

The Eighth Witness is an iPhone-first mystery game about a human witness specialist inside an alien diplomatic enclave.

It is not about combat or free-roam spectacle. The tools are motive, omission, contradiction, grief, and the uncomfortable sense that someone is leaving out exactly the part you need.

The slice follows the first day of a case: read the dossier, compare statements, notice contradictions, spend intuition carefully, and file a theory you can defend.

What I built

  • The mystery flow is built around attention rather than reflex.
  • Dossiers, statements, evidence, contradictions, and theory filing all appear in the first-day slice.
  • The tone is self-contained: no ads, no subscription framing, no analytics hook in the slice.

A few notes

  • The day-one home, dossier, and theory-filing screens carry the investigation loop.
  • The case flow already connects statements, evidence, contradictions, and theories.
  • The slice is small, but it tests the exact kind of investigation the larger game needs.
