Terminal Runner

Carry a little amber vial through a city that wants it back.

About this project

I’m building a command-typing runner for the Mac. Patch crosses Meridian’s rooftops to deliver a key and bring Juno home. Linux, Bash and Kubernetes commands become jumps, route changes and encounters along the way.

I’ve been giving the city more of its own story: a flooded market, a night train, factory cooling systems and the warm windows above Glass Crown. Illustrated scenes, a procedural score and persistent practice fixtures connect those places.

The latest campaign work is integrated in source, ahead of the earlier running build shown here. It still needs to be built and playtested before I can judge how the chapters play, sound and hold together. There is no public download yet.

What’s changed, what I’m trying, and what comes next.

A delivery through Meridian

A new Mac typing adventure follows Patch across a rainy city, with command practice woven into a delivery and a rescue.

Terminal Runner has become another way for me to explore learning through play. Instead of looking down a terminal, you follow Patch across a rainy city with an amber data vial and someone to bring home.

The recent work follows the people affected by the delivery: keeping a clinic powered, changing a train’s route, carrying factory records and passing copies through apartment windows. I’ve been drawing those moments into the story and tying the commands, machines and music to what is happening around them.

The latest campaign changes are in the source, ahead of the last running build. The gameplay picture is from that earlier build, while the Glass Crown image is production story artwork. There is more to do before I can judge how the chapters play, sound and hold together.
